GOMBO x MAFRO in Salvador de bahia

For the 2025 France-Brazil cultural season, Gombo is in residency in Salvador de Bahia, working on 'Pano da Costa.' This project examines the legacy of pre-colonial African cultures and the impact of slavery in Brazil. Collaborating with local designers, he's creating textile prints for a decolonial fashion show, drawing inspiration from the Sapeurs' use of clothing as cultural resistance. The resulting works will be exhibited at MAFRO in Salvador and later in France.
